City of Ottawa Accessibility Spotlight - March 2021

Para Transpo Customer Service Working Group

As part of our Customer Service Improvement initiative, OC Transpo has established the Para Transpo Customer Service Working Group.  The objective of the Group is to meet with Para stakeholders and customers to ensure the concerns of persons with disabilities are understood and considered in our service delivery.  We are also looking for advice and feedback to incorporate into our decision making.

The benefits of the Para Transpo Customer Service Working Group include increased customer engagement, providing additional opportunities for customer participation, ensuring Para Transpo customer needs are reflected in communications, and strengthening the relationship with Para customers.

The Group is comprised of OC Transpo staff from Customer Service, Operations, Service Planning, and Business Support Services and members of the public who are or who represent registered Para Transpo customers.  It also includes representation from the City of Ottawa Accessibility Advisory Committee. Over time the Para Transpo Customer Service Working Group will rotate external membership to give as many Para Transpo customers a voice as possible.

If you have any questions or comments about the Para Transpo Customer Service Working Group, you can contact
accessibility@octranspo.com.

COVID-19 Vaccination Forum

On March 23, the Ottawa Disability Coalition, Ottawa Public Health and the City of Ottawa Accessibility Office held a joint presentation on COVID-19 vaccination for people with disabilities in Ottawa.

The City's Accessibility Office wants to thank those who were able to attend the presentation, and would like to share the recording of the event that can be found on both the City’s and Ottawa Public Health's YouTube pages using the following links:

We would also like to share the
Ministry of Health Guidance for the Prioritization of Phase 2 Populations for COVID-19 Vaccination.

We will review the questions from the presentation, including those that the team was unable to answer during the event, and will continue to share information on the
Ottawa Public Health webpage. We will also look to hold another forum in April to share more information.

Should you have ongoing questions or feedback, you are welcome to reach out to our Accessibility Office at
accessibilityoffice@Ottawa.ca.
