Ottawa Public Library - Library hours increasing after Thanksgiving

The Ottawa Public Library is pleased to let you know that after Thanksgiving you will have more opportunities to enjoy the library in person. While we continue to face staffing challenges, we will be increasing opening hours across the majority of the Library’s 33 branches. In fact, we began last month by increasing Sunday hours to the full day. OPL’s 10 branches Sunday with opening hours are open for full days every Sunday, from 10 am to 5 pm -- first time ever!

Beginning Tuesday, October 11, most urban and suburban branches will be open from 10 am to 8 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, allowing for more morning visits to the Library and the holding favourite programs such as Babytime and Storytime.

Additional hours are also coming to some rural branches with both Osgoode and Vernon open Tuesday evenings until 8 pm, as another step towards resuming regular, pre-pandemic hours of operation.

And the return of more local branch service in Metcalfe village has arrived with the new branch location at 8243 Victoria Street, in the Town Hall, opening on October 13, 2022.

Hours and locations are published on the OPL website.

We look forward to seeing you in one of our 33 branches this autumn!
