Tree Removal in Kilreen Park

A large number of trees in Kilreen Park  have been identified for removal due to Emerald Ash Borer (click here).

The City has developed a strategy for responding to the infestation of Emerald Ash Borer (click here). Winter is the typical season for tree removal; however, it is also the birthing season of squirrels. Removal of trees with squirrel nests causes squirrels to look for homes for their young elsewhere.
The policy in the City’s Wildlife Strategy Report, approved by council in July 2013, states that trees with wildlife in them will not be removed.

If you have concerns about tree removal or wildlife in QTSR, contact the Ottawa-Carleton Wildlife Centre (click here) or Councillor Chiarelli at:

Email scam alert!

Please watch out for any email messages that claim to be from the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) or the RCMP telling you that your computer is “locked” that that you need to pay a fine so your computer can be “unlocked.”

If you receive one of these messages please be aware that it is a *scam*! Do not pay the $100.00 "fine." Being "locked out" of your computer is an indication that your system may have been infected with malware and you will need to scan your computer and destroy any malware.

If you have received an email like this, please report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (1-888-495-8501) and to your local police at 613-236-1222.
