Winter Carnival a Success!

If you didn't make it out to the first QTSR Community Association Winter Carnival, you missed a great event!! We had parachute games, hockey games, skating, hot chocolate, cookies, great prizes, and our first, but not last, QTSR tug-of-war!

Neighbourhood police came out to get to know community members. Constable Sue Wright joined in along with Neighbourhood Watch volunteers.

Mayor Jim Watson made a surprise appearance and commended us on our community spirit.

Councillor Rick Chiarelli joined us later to participate in the men vs. women tug-of-war and to help with the raffle draw.

Winners of the raffle won prizes from our wonderful sponsors (click for links): IKEA, Loblaws, Councillor Chiarelli, Appleseed Snowblowing, Boston Pizza, Big Rig, Sky Hawks.

A big thank you as well to Home Depot at 1900 Baseline Road for their contribution of a generator for the event.

  2. I second that! Our Recreation Committee is a.ma.zing! What fine, fine work you all did to make our first Winter Carnival a success! Our carnival queen deserves a standing ovation for her event planning and coordination.
